At the beginning of 2018, I didn't know where my life was going. Being a sophomore from a tier II college limited my opportunities in getting great internships. One fine day I came across a blog written by someone on 'How to get Research Internships at IIMs ?'. That was the turning point of my life and it gave me a direction to work hard. After some serious self-reflection about my passions and interests, I committed to learning everything I could about machine learning, data science, and the tech industry.

In July 2020, I started working full-time at Paytm Mall as a Business Analyst. Here I used my technical knowledge to automate a few of the tedious business processes that always lurk in large organizations. My intention is to help my colleagues by removing the repetitive tasks that eat away at our attention each workday.

Currently, I'm enrolled in a 2-year degree program in Masters in Data Science at Indiana University Bloomington.

In my spare time, I like to dabble in stuff far from the tech space, to consciously build an all-round personality. I like playing badminton and gardening. It gives me immense satisfaction to see a small sapling grow into a beautiful shrub if you take care of it daily. I am a big productivity and minimalism nerd, often reading up or trying out productivity tricks in an attempt to achieve a more balanced and mindful life.

I had single-handedly undertaken various automation projects, conceptualizing, and implementing them in Excel, Python and VBA. I implemented a Data Migration project to assist various teams in handling daily sales reports of 25 major offline clients. I achieved an enhanced accuracy by completely eliminating any possibility of manual errors and a significant decrease in the processing time by boosting the speed by 50%. Finally, I consolidated these reports in a dynamic form as dashboards in tableau.

I performed customer segmentation and profiling of 10M+ records using customer behavior, thus enabling clients to modify the offer system from blanket offers to personalized offers, hence, increasing response by 16% for the Loyalty program. I also built a Tableau dashboard for 50+ stores to report 20 KPI’s on a monthly level with YoY changes giving a holistic picture of Business for over 2+ years. I presented my work to the head of the marketing division who was impressed that I developed a shippable product at the end of 16 weeks of my 20-week internship.

During my junior year, I worked at CJBS University of Cambridge under Professor Jaideep Prabhu. Here, I was introduced to Big Data Analytics and Machine Learning. My work involved performing algorithm analysis, documenting resultants, training massive datasets, and used R to conduct ANOVA. Successively, I worked on two research projects titled "Creativity and Habit Formation" and "How Beliefs Guide the Pursuit of Passion and Influence Turnover”. As part of the second project, I worked on text mining and ontological predictions on a dataset comprising behavioral study results of over two hundred college students.

Analytics - Research Assistant June 2018 - Aug 2018

During my sophomore year, I secured an opportunity to intern at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad. I worked under the supervision of Professor Arvind Sahay, evaluating the development of the steel industry in India over the past twenty years. The primary and secondary tasks in this research involved conducting on-site interviews at distributor and customer locations, as well as reviewing government websites and the company’s annual reports for relevant information. I compiled my work in the form of a background study on the entire industry. Finally, I concluded my internship by making a case study that was used by the professor in teaching one of his classes.
